This short story is part of the „Into Shadows“ collection and was the fourth story I read in the series.

The story felt a lot like “Carrie” condensed into short form. I actually enjoyed that similarity, and maybe that’s why it worked so well for me. The ending, however, takes a different turn and even leaves us with a bit of a cliffhanger. Because of that, I’d love to see this expanded into a full-length novel. Still, as it stands, it’s a fun, fast read with engaging, likeable characters. Definitely worth reading.
