Holly

I‘m really glad that I read Holly and it was great to read it quite shortly after reading the Bill-Hodges-Trilogy and also shortly after the two Holly-Gibney-Books. It was an amazing read and every SK-Fan has to read it imho. 😁👍🏻

„When Penny Dahl calls the Finders Keepers detective agency hoping for help locating her missing daughter, Holly is reluctant to accept the case. Her partner, Pete, has Covid. Her (very complicated) mother has just died. And Holly is meant to be on leave. But something in Penny Dahl’s desperate voice makes it impossible for Holly to turn her down. This Time, Holly is on her own, and up against a pair of unimaginably depraved and brilliantly disguised adversaries.“

Blurb

At first I was convinced it would be a 5 Star like all the other books. And it more or less is but I need to make a difference here since the other books were absolutely fantastic with no negative points and this one was, at least for me, absolutely fantastic with some smaller negative points, which means it wasn‘t a 5 Stars for me.

The story is amazing, the characters were brilliant and the writing was on point, but the remarks about covid, masks and the vaccination was a bit too much. 🦠💉😷 I get that this is a part of all of our lifes now and I‘m fine with it, but when it feels like if the author wants to make a political point or put the focus on some society standpoints, I‘d rather have him write a separate book. Instead of hi-jacking an awesome story which I read to escape the reality at times… but that is the only negative thing, which also hasn’t changed a bit about the wonderfull, creepy, funny, freaky mystery-horror-thriller that it is. 😁👍🏻 And hopefully, we will see another Holly-Book in the future… 😉😍🥰👍🏻
